My Chronic Fatigue Recovery

the story of how I overcame chronic fatigue

About

My journey into health and well being started several years ago, when I had an episode of sub-acute thyroiditis. To put it simply, it’s like thyroid gland catching cold. Only problem with this is that the thyroid gland releases lot of stored hormone and causes hyperthyroidism which makes the body’s metabolic rate go up causing symptoms such as racing heart, rapid breathing and fatigue.

I had been to several doctors, but there was nothing they could do. What can any one do for common cold? It was such a case, where it would recover on it’s own and there was not much doctors could offer. But the episode caused exhaustion of my adrenal glands as they are the stress glands and they are called into action to deal with any stressors, including this episode of hyperthyroidism.

I went back to doctors with apparently no help as the adrenal parameters were within the normal range. As the doctors recognize only the complete failure of the adrenal glands, I was left on my own to deal with the fatigue. Later I came to know that doctors just say it’s Chronic Fatigue and avoid addressing the real issue of fixing the underlying causes.

I was determined to understand and address all the issues that led me into that situation. It started my curiosity out of necessity and it took me into the world of human biology, disease processes, cellular energy, metabolism and a whole set of other issues confronting the health of the humanity in general.

I was able to fix all the health issues of that episode through considerable research into complex subject areas of medical literature, biology, biochemistry, anatomy, physiology, nutritional aspects of health. My master’s degree and excellent academic credentials definitely helped me to overcome the barriers of understanding this wide range of complex knowledge areas.

I view this whole experience as a blessing in disguise that made me push the boundaries of my curiosity and understand several health aspects surrounding various disease processes such as Chronic Fatigue, Adrenal Exhaustion, Thyroid Disorders, Diabetes, Cancer etc. and how we can bring back composure and sanity under extreme situations. This also lead me to gain valuable life skills that I gained as I went through various difficulties and how I overcame them. I hope to be able to present them in a series of posts on this website and be of help to the humanity.

I am afraid many people might be suffering silently without much help for their Chronic Fatigue and other related health problems where they are left on their own to figure this out and fix. Most of them may not be fortunate to understand the technical literature of complex nature of the whole issues surrounding them.

Responsibility of good health rests with the individuals themselves. It’s a choiceless journey every one goes through. I try to pour my life time experiences in simple and easy to understand terminology. By putting the details of my experience in dealing with and addressing various complex health issues in simple layman’s terms, I hope people in the similar situation will have a jump start in their own exploration.

This has been the cumulative exploration and research of more than 10 years into the various aspects presented. Any one is free to read this. But my philosophy is one should explore one’s own world oneself. One has to take the complete responsibility for oneself in understanding any aspect of life. One should not take any action based on any one else saying anything. Knowledge base of the humanity constantly shifts with time, new research findings and new directions of thinking. Each person and situation are uniquely different that no one can generalize with any degree of accuracy of anything. Self exploration is the best exploration under such dynamic nature of knowledge and life itself.

Let the humanity be free from all suffering!
